((This is my Kuroshitsuji OC. I do not own Black Butler/ Kuroshitsuji, nor do I own Vincent Phantomhive, Rachel Phantomhive, Ciel Phantomhive, Frances Midford, Elizabeth Midford, Edward Midford, or Sebastian Michaelis. They all belong to Yana Toboso and Yen Press.))

Name: Marchioness Edith Matilda March Semple. (Marchioness, the English version of the word Marquess, is her title, Edith is her first name, Matilda is her middle, March was her maiden name, and Semple is her current surname.)

Personality: Edith wears her heart on her sleeve, it is easy to tell what she is feeling. It is obvious when she does not like someone. She is not rude to them, no matter how badly she wants to be, she instead, ignores them. (When she has no choice but to talk to people whom she doesn't care for, she can be very quiet. When she has to speak to them, she likes to oppose them on most of the things they say.) She is very opinionated and likes to have the final word & last laugh. She knows though, that sometimes she needs to keep her opinions to herself on certain things. Edith is resilient, and does not like to focus on the past. This is because she has a strong belief that it'll hold her back. She is a no-nonsense lady who takes responsibility seriously. Edith does not like to company of people who get distracted easily or those who think everything is a joke. She isn't very humorous and laughs on rare occasions. (Such occasions being Dinner parties or any other formal event when the proper thing to do is to laugh or else she believes that would be very disrespectful.) Edith abides by the rules and has little/no respect for those who don't do the same. She can be lonely at times but does not isolate herself. Edith tries to make herself more active in her kids' life, even if it is very hard and vexing. She gets a bit more calm when with her husband, Timothy, since he can balance her well out.

Back Story: Edith was the daughter of Earl Charles Eldin March IV and Countess Alva Esther Phantomhive. She had one brother and two sisters. (Oldest to youngest; Cornelius Andrew March, Mary Ann Eve March, and finally Phoebe Rose March.) She was a very serious child, who listened and obeyed all of her parent's rules and orders. She did what was needed of a young girl of her social class. When her parents allowed it, she started taking fencing lessons. She practiced for many years during her free time. She also practiced piano but that was replaced with fencing for a while. Soon, however, she was forced to go back to the piano and put fencing on hold.
She was very close to her cousins, the Phantomhives. Her Mother, Alva, would bring Edith and the others along with her whenever she wanted to visit her sister-in-law and brother. Edith and her siblings would see Frances ad Vincent. She enjoyed spending time with Frances, they were a lot alike. Once they got older, the two girls started getting more competitive. They wanted to see who had the best dresses, who was a better fencer, who had the richer fiancee, etc. They were usually tied in most things. Edith did not like how, at times, when Frances would disobey some of her parent's orders. When their parents all agreed that it was best for the girls to stop fencing and go back to their music lessons, Frances would secretly fence. This extra practice made Frances a bit more better than Edith, but Edith was much more better at music than Frances. Edith would have preferred to have it the other way around, but that would mean disobeying her parents which would be a big no in Edith's book. Edith and Vincent did talk at times, but Vincent was often out with Edith's brother, Cornelius. She had a lot of respect for Vincent, liking his personality. The two played often. It was a surprise to most people when they found out that they were not engaged like other cousins. For a while, they both did have some sort of "crush" on each other. They would have been engaged originally but it did not benefit the families. It was called off. They both got over each other and got back to the cousin type of love as they once had. It was a bit weird at some points though. They still had some unresolved feelings, but they locked those up to never be seen again so they could be happy with their fiancees.
Edith spent a large amount of time with her fiancee, Timothy Jacques Semple. She wasn't very crazy about him at first, not liking his overall personality or the fact that she had to marry him. (Timothy was carefree, casual, playful, and very go lucky. Edith was expecting to marry some one much more mature and serious, with a very business like tone.) Edith warmed up to him soon afte some years before they were married. Edith then got more in balance with Timothy and started to really like him to the point of love during their engagement. It did take a while and Timothy had to put a lot of work in it to try to impress her. She visited his manor often since that was going to be her future home. He was the son of Marquise Reynold Greene Semple and Marchioness Eugenia Susannah Lyonhill III Semple.
Edith attended Vincent and Rachel's wedding and was also one of brides maids. She also attended Frances' wedding, Edith was her maid of honor. At Mary Ann's wedding she was a brides maid, the same at Phoebe's wedding. At her wedding, Frances was the maid of honor, in return of making Edith hers.
After two years of marriage, Edith and Timothy both decided to have kids. The first one was Lucas Maxwell Semple. Two years later Edith gave birth to Ethel Adella Semple. The next child a year after was Arabella Katherine Semple. This was around the time Ciel an Elizabeth were born. After two years from giving birth to Arabella she gave birth to Selina Gloria Semple. Selina was very deformed in the pelvic & leg area. Not wanting this to go out, all of the friends and family encouraged Edith and Timothy to kill or leave the child for dead. If they didn't it would hurt their social title and authority, even it Edith disagreed to doing it - it happened any way. Selina was killed because of her "defect" so the family name Semple would not be tarnished. That was a very rocky, painful time for Edith. No matter how hard Timothy tried to convince her to have more kids, she did not budge. It was 4 years after when she finally agreed to have kids again. She gave birth to a healthy girl, her name was Gladys Florence Semple. Her last and final child was Jasper Egbert Semple, who was born a year after Gladys.
When Vincent and Rachel died, Edith felt horrible. She felt bad for Ciel too, since he was now an orphan technically and missing. She was relieved when he was found again and shocked that he took over the Phantomhive company all by himself. She is wary of his butler, Sebastian, however. Edith talks and sees her siblings often, and also enjoys visiting Frances. She sees Ciel time to time, an is usually invited to all his social and formal gatherings. Edith likes to play chess with him (she loses often). Edith likes to give Ciel puzzles, games, and toys whenever she sees him. He likes this, seeing how much of a greedy child he is. (Edith refers to him as that, he seems amused by it but at first was irratated.) They get into trivial debates, Ciel finds Edith's opinions and views on things interesting to listen to, he likes to oppose against them. Edith enjoys seeing Elizabeth an Edward, telling them stories about times when she had out-done their mother, Frances, in certain things. (Frances usually interjects by telling Elizabeth an Edward stories about how she beat Edith in certain things.) Edith enjoys seeing Elizabeth and loves to teach her new poems. She is a real pain to Edward, but he knows that she cares. She tried to teach him how to properly dance because Frances could not find a tutor at the moment. Edward either had to dance with his Mother or "Aunt"* Edith. He thought dancing with Edith would be easier than his Mother, he was very wrong about that.
Edith is a very strict Mother, an once struck Lucas and Jasper. The two boys were playing with their cousins. They ran off somewhere while Edith was having lunch with Phoebe. The boys came across a scary looking animal and screamed. Panicked and scared that their children were hurt, Edith went to go find the children. When she found the two, she struck each of them, telling them to never scare her like that again. Other than that, she rarely ever hits her kids. When she does it is because they do something like the thing mentioned before or they are rude at a social gathering. She does not hit her daughters, but instead she lectures them and gives them unreasonable punishments while the boys are hit. As if again though, this is rare. Lucas is not the one do this, it is Edith.
Edith is still alive and healthy, and keeps in shape. She rarely gets sick, when she does, it is only for a little while. Also, currently, her son Lucas is engaged to Lady Henrietta Daphne Boswell.

Relatives:  Charles Eldin March IV (Father), Alva Esther Phantomhive March (Mother),  Cornelius Andrew March (Brother), Beth Ursula Teale March  (Sister-In-Law), Clive Tobias March (Nephew), Mary Ann Eve March Whitfield (Sister), Wesley John Whitfield III (Brother-In-Law), Florence Stella Whitfield (Niece), Viceroy Newton Whitfield (Nephew), Phoebe Rose March Murren (Sister), Lumont Luxen Murren (Brother-In-Law), Janice Sophia Murren (Niece), Thomas William Murren (Nephew), Davis Chester Murren (Nephew), Oliver Darley Murren (Nephew), Bridget Nora Murren (Niece), Frances Phantomhive Midford (Cousin), Vincent Phantomhive (Cousin, Deceased), Timothy Jacques Semple (Husband), Reynold Greene Semple (Father-In-Law, Deceased), Eugenia Susannah Lyonhill III (Mother-In-Law), Lucas Maxwell Temple (Son), Ethel Adella Semple (Daughter), Arabella Katherine Semple (Daughter), Selina Gloria Semple (Daughter, Deceased), Jasper Egbert Semple (Son), Henrietta Daphne Boswell, (To Be Daughter-In-Law, Lucas' Fiancee) Elizabeth Midford (First Cousin Once Removed), Edward Midford (First Cousin Once Removed), Ciel Phantomhive (First Cousin Once Removed).

Talents/Interest:  Being a Marchioness she has learned quite a few things. She is fluent in Latin, French, and Russian. She can sew and bake. She loves poetry and still plays the piano time to time, she still prefers fencing though. She only fences with alone, none of her kids knowing that she was talented at it. Timothy does know about it, but for Edith's sake, he never mentions it to anyone else. He likes challenging her sometimes but ends up getting beat. She was taught at a young age how to ball room dance.

Appearance: Due to her fencing, she is in shape. She isn't as much in shape as Frances, but she hopes to get there one day. She has dark brown hair which is kept in a tight bun. She does not like to have any hair sticking out of it. She usually wears ornate dresses an always has her gloves. She wears a fancy necklace Timothy gave her during their engagement on her birthday, the necklace has an emerald on it. Her earings match, with emeralds on them. Most of jewelry revolve around emeralds. Her eyes are a light green eyes which look close to the color emerald itself. Like most Victorian women, she strives to be pale. She has makeup which helps her achieve this.

Occupation: Marchioness. Stay at home wife, cares for the children while doing other leisurely activities. Timothy handles the business and keeps Edith strictly out of it.

(*Elizabeth, Ciel, an Edward call her "Aunt" Edith. Elizabeth naturally does it along with Edward. Ciel does it to annoy her because she prefers her proper relative title to them which is 2nd cousin. When Elizabeth first called her this, Edith scolded her. After some time, she learned to ignore it. When Ciel does it however, he puts extra emphasis on the "Aunt" part of it. She then calls him a "greedy little nephew" in return.)
I hope you like her. I tried to study up but I'm no master. I would love some critique on her. Anything that will help me make her into a more solid OC. (I'm not one of those people who takes advice on how to make an OC better as a personal attack.)
